When I make a scientific illustration, whatever I am drawing: an animal, an insect, a plant, a part of the human anatomy … I create a personal and intimate relationship with that drawn object. Because I spend hours observing, studying every curve and every detail, color … I know him intimately and I represent him on the blank page at its best! Or, if it is a more artistic illustration, I represent it as I feel it, how it looks through my eyes.

.

That is why it is not surprising that my relationship with the objects that I draw is like a long friendship, like that old friend whose strengths and weaknesses you know and who has entrusted you with his secrets.

.

Communicating human anatomy through Art is an opportunity to know and connect with ourselves and our biology, in a meaningful, deep and emotional way.

.

We can do it to help others, with medical scientific illustration. Helping doctor-patient communication or researching and communicating human anatomy to new students. Even being very rigorous, these medical scientific illustrations can convey great artistic value.

We can also use human anatomy as inspiration for personal artistic work, in a way that leads us to know our own body and how wonderful is the way it works.
